We depart from our usual symphonic fare as we join four fantastic soloists with arias by Mozart and Arditi, Monti’s popular Czardas, the rousing 1st
movement of the Kabalevsky Violin Concerto, and Popper’s exciting Hungarian Rhapsody. Familiar favourites complete the programme, including excerpts from Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, Offenbach’s famous Can-Can from Orpheus, Saint-Saëns’ weirdly wonderful Danse Macabre, and a selection of tantalising tunes from movies and television series, old and new.
This concert will bring you and your family, the young and the more mature, a thrilling afternoon of joyful music – let us turn Spring 2019 into an experience that will live in your hearts and memories for years to come!
We look forward to seeing you at the Lange Hall, Kingsmead College in Rosebank, on Sunday afternoon 8 September 2019!
