FMR Bursary Trust Awards 2021
The finals of the competition on 25 August and 27 August will be recorded and broadcast a few days later.

Die finale rondte van die kompetisie op 25 Augustus en 27 Augustus sal opgeneem en ‘n paar dae later uitgesaai word.

News just in from Mark Jennings, FMR Station Manager:
There were so many Classical Vocal entries this year that we have created a new category! The categories are Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental and Jazz. There are three finalists in each category. The winner of each category will receive R20 000 cash, and each of the Runners-Up, R5000.  Many thanks to our sponsor, the Rolf-Stephan Nussbaum Foundation.
We thank the Classical Judges for their time and expertise: Mario Nell, Aviva Pelham and Felicia Lesch.
The finalists are (in no particular order)
Classical Vocal:

  • Samkelisiwe Sitshinga (Soprano)
  • Lefa Sello (Baritone)
  • Moloko Letsoalo (Soprano)

Classical Instrumental:

  • Lynn Rudolph (Viola)
  • Kevin Kim (Piano)
  • Josie McClure (Saxophone)

We thank the Jazz judges for their time and expertise: Amy Campbell, Blake Hellaby and Darryl Andrews.

The Classical Finals Concert (Vocal and Instrumental) will be held on Wednesday evening the 25th of August at 19:00 in the Baxter Concert Hall.
The Jazz Finals Concert will be held on Friday the 27th of August in the Baxter Concert Hall (time still to be confirmed)
