Unplugged Live Concerts in Cape Town

Dear Music Lovers

Cape Town is filled with a perfect mix of music to celebrate the month of Love:

The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra‘s International Summer Season continues into February alongside a busy schedule of extra events – the 4th Len van Zyl Conducting Competition on 10th – highlighting the next generation of South African conductors. a pops filled Community Gala on 17th and then their annual concert at Kirstenbosch Gardens on 24th.

Maynardville’s Shakespeare Festival continues throughout February and includes an Opera evening on the 10th with Cape Town Opera.

Violinist Alexander Gilman opens the Cape Town Concert Series on 23rd with a recital of Beethoven, Piazzolla, Prokofiev and Franck. He performs with his wife, pianist Marina Seltenreich.

Camerata Tinta Barocca have a special concert at the Baxter on the 26th with three visiting baroque specialists Philipp Mathmann (male soprano), Anna Fusek (recorder, baroque violin) and Petra Marianowski (harpsichord)

Two other highlights, which are not strictly unplugged, but are perfect date nights to un-plug to – there is a Museum Open Night on 21st which offers a romantic walk through the exhibitions at the Waterfront, and female impersonator and singer Ceri Dupree will be performing from the 6th at Gate69 – one of the most unique and fun theatre spaces in town.

This – and much more listed below – as always more details can be found from facebook, whatsonincapetown.co.za, Computicket, Webtickets and Quicket.

So whether you are looking for romance or self love – make a date with live music this February.

Enjoy
Kind regards
Louise
