Unplugged live music concerts in Cape Town

Dear Music Lovers

Amongst all the incredible concerts taking place this month – there are some extra events you might like to add to your diaries this month.

The Olive Lieberz Piano Competition, open to South African piano students takes place on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th September in the Baxter Concert Hall. Five students will compete for the first prize of R50,000 to be used towards masterclasses or auditions overseas. Tickets from Webtickets and at the door.

Following that is the Schock Foundation Prize for Chamber Music on 25th September. This is 11th edition of this annual competition and will feature ensembles selected from the SA College of Music chamber music concerts featured throughout the year. Tickets from Webtickets and at the door.

On 30th September there is the annual Quiz Night hosted by the Friends of Orchestral Music in collaboration with Bowmans Cape Town. This fun evening is run by quiz master Morne Wessels and held in the incredible surroundings of Bowmans Cape Town Office,Bree Street.  Sunset drinks, soup and breads and a selection of wines accompany a fun evening of general knowledge and music with all proceeds going towards classical music projects around Cape Town.  Tickets R150pp & tables of 10 for R1500 from Quicket.
