Role Description

Trinity College London is an international awarding body with a longstanding history of offering its highly respected graded exams in Music, Rock & Pop and Drama in South Africa.

The National Co-ordinator is an independent service provider who provides services to Trinity College London in relation to the promotion and delivery of Trinity exams in a territory. Their activities sit alongside activities undertaken directly by Trinity College London.

We are looking for an individual or business to take on this role for Trinity exams in South Africa. The role will include:

  • Promoting Trinity qualifications to teachers, course providers, learners, parents and other stakeholders who use Trinity exams or are potentially interested in doing so
  • Raising awareness of Trinity’s products, pedagogy and positive impact
  • Organising and participating in educational events and training
  • Advising and assisting Trinity in gaining further recognition for its exams
  • Supporting the delivery of Trinity exams

Communication and Networking

Key attributes: excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, network and maintain high profile

  • Speaking at Trinity diploma ceremonies, award presentations and recitals
  • Speaking at educational conferences
  • Professional development presentations (such as subject specific talks, or masterclasses)
  • Writing for publications of key stakeholders
  • Writing / editing for Trinity publications
  • Communicating with internal/external stakeholders (such as answering academic or operational enquiries, responding to complaints, supporting Registered Exam Centres and Hubs)
  • Managing publicity (such as advertising opportunities, event publicity)

Team Leadership

  • Regular communication with Trinity essential
  • Conduit for Trinity communications
  • Supporting recruitment by Trinity
  • Team building / identifying and working to the strengths of the individual
  • Conflict management

 Business/Commercial Management

Key attributes: ability to prioritise, see the ‘big picture’, identify and respond to opportunities

  • Providing marketing support
  • Business planning
  • Scouting for new business opportunities
  • Candidate and income forecasting
  • Awareness of and response to market needs
  • Understanding of South African educational system
  • Knowledge of competitors
  • Providing advice to Trinity on the South African macro-environment
  • Financial/KPI reporting

IT & Administration

Key attributes: confidence with digital technologies, ability to learn quickly

  • Must work with Trinity’s online platform for exam delivery
  • Conversant with Microsoft products, range of browsers, PDF and other document formats, video conferencing apps

A National Co-ordinator will have the following attributes:

  • Discreet, trustworthy, reliable

The successful applicant will have an absolute belief in the power of the performing arts and the necessity for quality performing arts education. This underpins the ability to engage successfully with our stakeholders in what is a grassroots market.

Additionally, they will have a fully equipped home office and be able to undertake domestic travel at least 6 times per year. Hours are flexible with peak periods and troughs during the calendar year.

You will receive a commission of a percentage of the gross exam fees for the territory for these services.
