Music career training at the Cape Town Academy of Music

It is twenty years since Dr. Avril Kinsey founded the Cape Town Academy of Music (CTAM) and ten since she founded the NPO charity, Friends of CTAM. In celebration of CTAMs 20 years they are offering a free 45 minute consultation and music talent assessment. The exceptional vocal and piano teaching skills of Janette Cilliers will be welcomed at the academy in 2020, while Kinsey continues to teach guitar and theory primarily. Janette specialises in musical theatre, and all forms of voice and piano lessons, besides being an excellent accompanist for all exams and eisteddfods as well.  “We are privileged to have her at CTAM in 2020”, says Kinsey.

Kinsey is also excited to be offering the Music Artist Diploma (MADip) course in 2020, which is a comprehensive music course suitable for bridging the levels between school and university. It is also ideal for those wanting to begin preparations for a professional career in music, whether in performing, creating, producing or teaching.

The practical and theory modules are accredited with Trinity College London exams, while the business entrepreneurship and marketing component draws on Kinsey’s 40 years in the business of music. Music teachers, who have students interested or suitable may contact Avril Kinsey to have a presentation of the course presented at their school or institution. Favourable comments from students who have done the course are also available on the website at www.avrilkinsey.net  For more information, or to book a consultation contact Avril on 0834114889.
